			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My last club ride of the year and it was excellent. A nice, bright, clear start to the day meant around fourteen of us started from Crystal Palace despite the low temp (2ºC) and we split at Markbeech with only two of us continuing down to Ditchling and back. We stuck to B roads as much as possible so the ride flowed and we could maintain a fairly steady pace without working too hard. 80% of my time was in zones 1 and 2 and I remembered to eat and drink often so I still felt strong and energetic towards the end.</p>

<p>A little misty again at the start of today&#8217;s ride. We did the Back Lane route and I stayed out for an extra hour. Did well on the hills (for me) and felt strong throughout despite a tempo session on Thursday. Goes to show what a difference decent rest and nutrition can make. I also made sure I ate and drank frequently on the bike rather than waiting until I was thirsty or peckish.</p>
<p>Next week is the start of my Base 3 block so three weeks of form sprints on Tuesdays, tempo sessions on Thursdays and building up to seven-hour endurance rides on Saturdays.</p>
